Waterfall...
One thing happens that leads to something else, that leads to yet another 'something else...' That's what my house is ya'll....a never ending list of 'something elses', if that's even a word.
So the dog peed in my daughter's room. About 3 times. Husband cleaned the carpet about 10 times with different cleaners. Didn't work. My daughter couldn't sleep in there with the smell of pee and cleaner, so maybe it's time to rip up the carpets and put in the wood floors we talked about doing when they were older. Why not! So we stay up until midnight and take everything out of her room and rip up the carpet. Done! That was two weeks ago. Garage is still full of her furniture.
Next, we order flooring for both kids rooms, because we know eventually, we want both of their rooms to be the wood flooring and we want them to be the same color. So we order the flooring - guess what! They have to order it! It will take 4 days. The installer comes to measure both rooms (that way we can order all the flooring at once like we wanted to.) He says he can come Saturday, flooring will be in Thursday, so we're good. Hurray! Kids will be back in their rooms by Saturday night. What do you think that happened? Installer called Thursday, can't come until Monday. So, we have all day Friday to think. This is not a good thing.
So, the dog peed in my son's room too. Let's gut his room too since we now have two extra days! And we'll just do the floors at the same time? Why not! House is already a wreck, let's just do it all at once! So Saturday, we gut the room. Except we don't have a garage to put his crap in because god forbid the Mustang goes in the driveway, so my son's room basically exploded all over the rest of the house.
Husband gets up all the tack strips, spackles, and does some repair work on some baseboards. About 1:30 yesterday (Sunday) he says - so, did we decide if we're painting Z's room? Oh crap. The room is totally cleared out! What better time to paint - of course! So I run to the hardware store and get paint. Oh yeah - and quarter round. And more paint because we might as well re-paint the doors and walls above the chair rail too. Let's not forget that we still have a flag football game to play and cheer at, plus my mom coming over to watch the game and have dinner.
Mom leaves, we get the kids in bed. Start painting at 8:30pm last night. Installers coming today so it must get done. Guess who was up realllyyy late painting and now has blue speckled fingernails because scrubbing your nails with your contacts already out, in the dark, because one of your kids is sleeping in your bed is really not the best way to get them completely clean.
Happy Monday, the home of run-on sentences.
